Special Announcement for Grantseekers:
Good news! Improvements have been made to our 2020 Responsive Grants process to shorten the length of time from when you apply to when you are notified. We've also made some other changes designed to make it easier for you to apply. A note of importance: the application process for General Operating Support and Capital Project Support will have an earlier due date of February 27, 2020.

Grantseeker Information Webinar participation is strongly encouraged, even for experienced Grant applicants. The webinar will share information about all the grant processes of The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven and the Valley Community Foundation.

Competitive Grants

The Foundation uses unrestricted and preference funds to respond to community needs in Greater New Haven. This flexible funding supports several different competitive grant programs offered throughout the year, ranging in size from small grants and sponsorships to larger multi-year commitments.

What We Look For

Review the following guidelines before applying:

Reporting

Reporting forms and instructions for existing grant and scholarship recipients are found here.

Noncompetitive Grants

Donor advised, designated and organization funds name specific nonprofits as beneficiaries and are not open to a competitive application process. Distributions of grants to nonprofits profiled on giveGreater.org® are similarly determined by donors and may include additional Foundation funds designed to incentivize giving during community challenges, such as The Great Give®Learn more about creating a fund.
