    Title: Accountant

    Department: Finance, Administration, Communications, Technology and Stewardship
    Reports to: Director of Finance and Accounting
    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
    Salary: $50,000


    The Accountant is responsible for the following primary functions: accounting analysis, reconciliations, gift management/tracking, internal and external financial reporting, and maintaining electronic accounting records.


    • Performing monthly account reconciliations and related reporting processes
    • Performing weekly deposit processing
    • Generating financial reporting
    • Maintaining complete and accurate electronic files
    • Assuring all accounting processes follow established protocols and suggesting improvements
    • Acting as liaison with staff to organize the timely flow of information and ensuring an orderly process for accounting, reporting and financial integrity
    • Serving as back-up to the counterpart Finance Officer (2) position
    • Performing other administrative duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Finance and Accounting


    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, preferred
    • One to two years’ experience in a progressively responsible position using accounting principles and practices
    • Strong skills with MS Office including advanced proficiency in MS Excel
    • Ability to work under the pressure of tight deadlines; able to take lead with minimal supervision and manage effectively under demanding conditions
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills; ability to complete assignments independently, professionally and in a timely manner; ability to make decisions about how to manage and organize workloads
    • Excellent project management skills
    • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, troubleshooting and decision-making capabilities
    • Knowledge of and experience with database management principles and practices
