The Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) is a professional designation offered by the American College of Financial Services to reflect expertise in philanthropic planning. Financial and nonprofit professionals with this credential are equipped to help their clients and donors maximize the impact of their charitable giving with tax, financial and estate planning strategies.

Three years of relevant professional experience are required to enroll in the CAP® program. Certification includes passing three graduate level courses, adhering to a professional code of ethics and completing ongoing continuing education requirements. Curriculum objectives center around discerning giving vehicles that best align with the client’s financial objectives, guiding multigenerational family wealth strategies and helping nonprofits manage planned gifts and donor intent.

You may want to work with a CAP® when your client expresses interest in developing a philanthropic strategy, making a major gift or selling a closely held business or appreciated assets, or receives an inheritance. By integrating charitable planning with your client’s overall financial and estate planning, a CAP® can help your client make the most charitable impact.

When the need arises, we hope our CAP® certified staff can be part of your team. Although we are the experts in philanthropy, you are the expert in your client.

We look forward to working with you!
