Connecticut in Top 20 for Volunteering & Civic Engagement
Did you know that Connecticut ranks 17 among the 50 states in volunteering and civic engagement? According to the most recently compiled data from a 2012 survey by www.volunteeringinamerica.gov, 30.2% of Connecticut residents volunteer, each giving an average of 37 volunteer hours. The highest percentage of volunteers by age group was the 45-54 (16%) year-olds, closely followed by 16-19 (15.5%) and 35-44 (14.4%) year-old brackets.
