Our hearts are with the residents of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean as they face more catastrophic natural disasters. Five years after the devastating landfall of Hurricane Maria, Fiona has caused widespread flooding and power outages. More recently, Ian is disrupting more lives in neighboring Caribbean islands and Florida.

To support the disaster recovery, please consider donating to one or more of the following organizations that are coordinating relief efforts.

CT Helps PR/ CT Ayuda PR: A statewide online fundraising effort coordinated by The Coalition of Connecticut Puerto Rican Day Parades Festivals, which includes the CICD-Puerto Rican Parade, Inc. Hartford Chapter, Puerto Rican Parade of Fairfield County, Puerto Rican Festival of New Haven, Meriden Puerto Rican Festival, Boriken Festival of Norwich, and the Waterbury Puerto Rican Parade & Festival.

Hispanic Federation: The Hispanic Federation is on the ground in Puerto Rico providing emergency relief services and essential supplies to the communities most affected by the storm. It is in the process of identifying organizations in the Dominican Republic to support local relief.

Fundación Comunitaria de Puerto Rico: The Community Foundation of Puerto Rico provides support to organizations involved in immediate relief as well as long-term efforts to aid local communities.

The Council on Foundations: The COF has created a guide with resources and response funds to support communities affected by Hurricane Fiona.

As Hurricane Ian makes landfall in Florida, community foundations in the Sunshine State are already taking steps to support their communities in the wake of what is expected to be a devastating storm.
