Development Operations Officer

Department:  Development and Donor Services  
Reports to:  Director of Donor Services & Development Operations 
FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt  
Salary range :  $48,868 - $61,085 
 

POSITION
This position supports a team of development relationship managers and related donor services processes. It relies heavily on engaging and coordinating with other departments including communications, finance and grants and strategy, and external constituents, as well as other responsibilities as assigned.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting a team of Development and Donor Service professionals in the execution and tracking of department goals.  
  • Implementing the daily gift acknowledgement and notification process to ensure prompt and accurate communication of gifts and transfers for The Community Foundation and the Valley Community Foundation.
  • Tracking prospect management efforts, including coding and analysis, preparing detailed prospect research profiles and reports, and facilitating regular prospect review meetings to inform portfolio assignment and outreach strategies.  
  • Implementing personalized donor stewardship and fund recognition strategies to enhance engagement and provide important touch points with constituents.
  • Providing consistent, high-quality customer service to diverse audiences including donors, professional advisors, nonprofits, volunteers and vendors of The Community Foundation across multiple communication channels such as phone, email and written correspondence.
  • Coordinating outreach efforts for a scholarship fund application process.
  • Providing support for special events and assigned special projects.
  • Providing back up support for important development processes such as gift entry and new fund set up to ensure accuracy and continuity.
  • Acting as an internal resource for Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT, offering support to colleagues and identifying opportunities for process improvement, and increase efficiency, with a commitment to data integrity across The Community Foundation’s technology platforms.
  • Collaborating with Foundation staff members and serving on cross-department teams.  
  • Providing administrative duties, as needed.  

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of four years of related professional experience required.
  • Strong analytical and data entry skills, and highly skilled in technology and office software including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Familiarity with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT and Zoom preferred.
  • Experience organizing and operating efficient office processes and procedures while juggling multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on high customer service and engagement with diverse populations.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to track schedules, organize meetings, produce reports and presentations, and complete repetitive tasks accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and inclusive communication style.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment.
  • Experience with outreach and prospect research is a plus.
