“In our collective stewardship of this great democratic experiment, we hold onto our personal dreams and aspirations for a future where the pursuits of life, liberty and happiness are accessible and experienced by all.”
— April De Simone

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are more than words describing democratic values. They are foundational principles to be integrated into every framework in the environments and systems we plan and design.

In this conversation with Foundation president & CEO Will Ginsberg and exhibit curator April De Simone, you will hear about the inspiration and goals of The Practice of Democracy: A View from Connecticut, an experience that highlights local stories and personal experiences to tell a national story that draws connections between intentional land use policies and practices to examples of how democracy shows up in our community today.
