Black Futures Fund
The purpose of the BFF is to advance racial equity in Greater New Haven by building a stronger future for Black communities. It works to tackle the structures that contribute to racial disparities in our community and build a sense of common destiny among peoples of all races in our community through a shared understanding of our community’s history.
What the Black Futures Fund Supports:
- Promoting Black leadership through expanding mentoring, networking, and professional development opportunities.
- Enhancing opportunities for civic education and engagement.
- Providing programming, grantmaking and capacity building support for Black-led organizations.
- Cultivating shared learning, convening, and engagement across groups of all races to build broad coalitions for positive social change.
- Centering the needs and interests of those affected by structural racism.
- Supporting grassroots organizing and advocacy.
- Increasing economic inclusion by building a stronger future for the Black community.
- Supporting emerging leaders, voices, ideas and collaborations on the front lines of challenging historical and cultural attitudes.
- Raising funds to accomplish the above activities.
