The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, as part of its commitment to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of community philanthropy, hosted a conversation and networking event to support diversifying the asset management business.

Four professionals sit at a conference table. One woman speaks into a microphone while the others listen. They are dressed in business attire, and notepads, glasses, and candy bowls are on the table. A large plant is in the background.

Held Thursday, April 27 at The Blake Hotel, the event featured special guest Connecticut State Treasurer Eric Russell. It included interactive panel discussions and a "fireside" interview between a representative from a national consulting firm and a leader in the asset management business.

A man in a suit speaks at a podium to a seated audience in a conference room. A banner with the word Invest is visible beside him, and people listen attentively.

Participants shared successes and ways to address the challenges of competing in the institutional asset management business. The program was followed by a reception.

A group of people in formal attire socialize at an indoor event, some holding drinks. The focus is on a woman with glasses in the center, while others converse around her near a bar area with natural light.

In addition to promoting diversity within the asset management industry, The Community Foundation engages diverse managers for its endowment investments. While only 1.5 percent of assets in the investment management industry are under the management of diverse investment managers, 20 percent of The Community Foundation’s assets are managed by diverse managers.
