What We Heard

New Scholarship Announced at Gala

PLF Advisory Committee Chair Fernando Muñiz announced the creation of a new annual scholarship for Latino students established in honor of PLF founders and charter members. The first scholarship will be designated to a student at Southern Connecticut State University, where the gala took place.

Recent PLF Grants Are Providing Relief

Thanks to the generosity of Fund supporters, PLF distributed thousands of dollars in grants for disaster relief and recovery efforts in the wake of 2017's devastating hurricanes and earthquake in Puerto Rico and Mexico; the current focus is on helping those who lost everything and are now living in Greater New Haven, rebuilding their lives.

What We Can Do

Join Us for Our Fall Forum: "Trás la Tormenta: Puerto Rico One Year After Maria"

The Progreso Latino Fund's annual forum takes place this year on November 15, 2018, featuring Dr. Nelson Colón Tarrats, President and CEO of the Puerto Rico Community Foundation, and Hon. Julia Nazario Fuentes, Mayor of Loiza, Puerto Rico. They will discuss restoration efforts on the island since Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico just over a year ago. Register now.

Support the Fund's Activities

Latinos are the youngest and fastest growing population in Greater New Haven. Therefore, when Latinos thrive, the Greater New Haven region thrives. The Progreso Latino Fund hosts educational and policy forums, brings in nationally recognized speakers and leaders to the region and convenes Latinos on important topics that impact their lives.
