Angel Bruno - PLF Advisory Committee

Angel Bruno

Angel Bruno was appointed to the Progreso Latino Fund Advisory Committee in 2021. Along with his career in human resources, Bruno is an active community volunteer, having served on the boards of directors for Mutual Housing Association of South Central CT (a.k.a. NeighborWorks New Horizons) and Junta for Progressive Action.

Bruno is a total rewards (human resource, compensation and benefits) professional, currently a director at Middlesex Health in Middletown. He is formerly a vice president at Yale New Haven Health in New Haven, and Avangrid in Orange, CT.

In his many years in the field of total rewards, Bruno has overseen health & welfare and retirement benefits, broad-based compensation, executive compensation, workers’ compensation, and payroll functions. He has championed and led the standardization of compensation and benefits as well as the use of technology to provide HR services more efficiently and effectively, while designing plans to attract, retain and motivate employees.

Bruno was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in New York City. He would spend summers in Puerto Rico with his grandparents and became bilingual in Spanish and English. He “found” Connecticut in the late 80’s and hasn’t left since. He earned his bachelor’s degree in organizational behavior & management from Brown University, and because he is a strong believer in education and the doors it can open, obtained a MBA/MSM from Albertus Magnus College in 2008.

He lives in Milford with his wife Seila Mosquera-Bruno. Together they have three adult children and two grandchildren – all within the Greater New Haven area.
