Join us online as Dr. Jessica Spector explores the history of spirits through the classic drink, The Old Fashioned, in a way you’ve never experienced before. Through her presentation, "Whiskey the Old Fashioned Way: An American Story," she will discuss how various factors led to the rise of whiskey and that truly American invention: the cocktail. After tracing the drink’s roots, she will show you some ways you can personalize the drink to your own taste.

Dr. Jessica Spector holds an MA and PhD in philosophy from The University of Chicago, diplomas from three Scottish Whisky Academies, and is a member of the American Distilling Institute and the American Craft Spirits Association. She researches and writes about ethics, history, the sex industry and the culture of drink, and teaches about drink culture and ethics at Yale University.
