Our thoughts are with all those affected by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal over the weekend. In the coming weeks and months, there will be calls for support of all kinds, and we will try to assist any donors wishing to make contributions. Please contact Dotty Weston-Murphy at 203-777-7081 or at dmurphy@cfgnh.org.

The Red Cross Society of Nepal in coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) activated the Family Links website to restore contact for affected family members. People in Nepal can register that they are alive on the site, if they are not able to contact family and loved ones through other means of communication. Likewise, people who have lost contact with family and loved ones in Nepal can search the list of missing persons and those who have responded that they are alive. The Red Cross has advised people to continue to try usual methods of communication as well.

Inquiries about U.S. citizens should also be referred to the U.S. Department of State, Office of Overseas Citizens Services.
