The Greater New Haven Voter Engagement Initiative

GNH-Vote 2018 is a nonpartisan initiative that gives service providers the tools and resources to increase the engagement and voter registration of historically disenfranchised community members.

Application Extended to May 7th, 5 p.m.

Participating Organizations Will Receive:

  • A civic engagement grant of $1,000 for providing $100 stipends to individuals supporting the voter engagement effort and for voter engagement materials.
  • Training and support for conducting voter registration and voter pledge activities and other voter engagement strategies.
  • Resources and tools for a successful voter registration and pledge to vote program.
  • Opportunities for peer learning.
  • Evaluation and analysis for your voter engagement activities.

Interested Organizations Are Asked To:

1. Complete the RFP Below by Friday, May 4th, 5 PM.
2. Agree to register to vote and sign a pledge to vote with at least 150 people you serve at your agency – with at least half the contacts being newly registered voters.
3. Designate a staff coordinator
4. Ensure opportunities for a minimum of two staff or volunteers to attend the voter engagement training.
5. Enter and track the names, addresses, and cell phones of people you contacted for follow up and evaluation.
6. Participate in National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, September 25th, 2018 and GOTV day.
7. Participate in 4 monthly cohort calls between June and October with other participating agencies.

All efforts related to the Nonprofits Vote 2016 Campaign must be conducted on a nonpartisan basis. Nonprofit Votes Participants may not directly or indirectly support or oppose any candidate for public office.

Primary Elections: Aug. 14th National Voter Registration Day: Setp. 25th Absentee Ballots Available: October 6
Voter Registration Deadline: October 31
Follow up and GOTV activities: October – Election Day Nov 7th
