U.S. Small Business Administration Loan Programs

Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)

Forgivable loans to cover payroll costs, rent and debt for organizations with up to 500 employees. Apply through an SBA-approved commercial bank.

Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program

An immediate advance of $10,000 is available to organizations that apply for forgivable loans of up to $2 million.

Free consultations for applying to SBA programs.

Connecticut DECD Bridge Loan Program

Update 3/30/20: This program has been paused. To provide emergency cash flow relief to small businesses and nonprofits negatively impacted by the coronavirus, Connecticut is now offering qualifying organizations with 100 or fewer employees access to no-interest loans. Details here.

Connecticut Minority Business Funding

Hartford Economic Development Corporation (HEDCO)

Low-interest loans and lines of credit to Connecticut businesses owned by minorities and/or women.

Insurance and Paid Leave

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (Act) gives businesses and organizations with fewer than 500 employees funds to provide employees with paid leave, either for the employee's own health needs or to care for family members. Details here.

Health Insurance - Access Health CT announced a new Special Enrollment Period for these exceptional circumstances available through April 17, 2020 for qualified uninsured Connecticut residents. Details here.

Unemployment Assistance

Workers directly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic no longer must be actively searching for work to qualify for unemployment assistance. Employers who are furloughing workers can use the Department of Labor’s shared work program, which allows businesses to reduce working hours and have those wages supplemented with unemployment insurance. DECD - COVID-19 Business Emergency Response Unit

The Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development has created a COVID-19 Business Emergency Response Unit dedicated to assisting businesses and nonprofits navigate resources and develop new resources.

A dedicated phone line has been set up at 860-500-2333 to provide assistance.
