Establishing a Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund is a wonderful way to honor someone important to you. The gift of education that it bestows is a lasting tribute to the person for whom it is named. The purpose of the scholarship can be defined to match the interests and values of the honoree. By choosing to partner with the Valley Community Foundation, your fund becomes part of a major scholarship program that is publicized in a scholarship directory distributed throughout the Lower Naugatuck Valley and Greater New Haven regions.

Key Decisions that need to be made to establish a scholarship fund with The Valley Community Foundation:

Fund Name       The donor names the fund.

Fund Purpose    The donor specifies the fund’s purpose.

Type of Fund     The donor decides if the fund is to be designated or advised.
