The Neighborhood Small Grants Program has supported local leadership since 1991

Small grants ranging from $100 to $3,000 have been awarded to more than 250 neighborhood groups located in New Haven and the Lower Naugatuck Valley.

Funding has supported educational, environmental, intergenerational, arts and cultural activities.

Projects have ranged from monthly dinner outings for seniors to nursery school planting activities, neighborhood pride festivals to summer school and afterschool programs.

The  Program focuses on projects to impact New Haven and Lower Naugatuck Valley’s neighborhoods. Grants are awarded for activities that strengthen social and technical skills and provide leadership opportunities for both young and old alike.
