Alan is a managing partner of Ryan & Tyma, LLP in Shelton with over thirty years of experience in real estate, litigation and estate planning. He is currently a member of the board of directors of the Valley Community Foundation and serves as liaison to the Valley Advisory Committee and chair of the Valley Neighborhood Advisory Committee. He is president of Oak Lane Country Club and the chairman of Emergency Medical Services Board in the town of Woodbridge. Previous board membership includes: Griffin Health Services (vice chairman, secretary, treasurer), State of Connecticut Employment and Training Commission (vice chairman), Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce (chairman, vice chairman, secretary, treasurer), Valley Regional Water Authority (vice chairman), Workplace, Inc (chairman, vice chairman), Birmingham Group. Mary Jane is an associate with the H. Pearce Real Estate Co. She is a member of the board of directors of Birmingham Utilities, Inc. and Schooner, Inc. Mary Jane is past president of Burt Medical Laboratory, a division of Pat Lab, Inc., a former partner with The Laurel Group, past chair of the Council on Women’s Health Research at Yale and a former vice president of the board of The Foote School.

Bishop Brooks is the pastor of Beulah Heights First Pentacostal Church. He is the diocesan of the newly formed Brazilian Fellowship of Apostolic Pentecostal Churches of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. He is president/CEO of Beulahland Development Corporation, founded to revitalize distressed communities in New Haven via affordable housing, economic development and job opportunities. He is also the director of the International Christian Education Association of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. He serves on the Yale-New Haven Hospital’s Trustee Board and Medical Committee, the City of New Haven’s Board of Police Commissioners, as well as its Police & Fire Pension Board, the Board of the Regional Water Authority’s Watershed Fund, the AIDS Interfaith Board and the Budget & Finance and Operations & Procedures Committees for the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. He also is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and the International Association of Christian Clinical Counselors. Within his church organization, he sits on the Board of Bishops, and the Board of Directors of the Connecticut District Council and the Aenon Bible College.

James E. Cohen Appointed by the Mayor of the City of New Haven for a term of seven years beginning January 1, 2006 Chair Education Subcomittee Member Governance Committee & New Haven Neighborhood Advisory Committee
Jamie is the President and CEO of the Valley Community Foundation, having been appointed on January 24, 2008 by the VCF Board of Directors to succeed Angela Powers in that position. Previously, he had been a practicing attorney and partner in the law firm of Cohen & Thomas since 1971, and had served twice as the City of Derby's Corporation Counsel. Jamie has been a member of many civic organizations (the Derby Public Library and New Haven Symphony Boards of Directors, and the New Haven Charter Revision Commission, among others), and has been honored by several, including the Martin Luther King Brotherhood Committee and Housatonic Council of Boy Scouts, and received the 2006 Gold Seal Award from the Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Annie currently holds the position of Volunteer Coordinator at the Volunteer Services Department in Yale-New Haven Hospital. Annie became the director of Friends of Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital in 2005 after being a board member for a decade. The Friends' mission is "improving the health and well being of children and their families at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital through clinical care, education and outreach." She is a member of University of Hartford's Mortensen Library board of visitors and a member of the Parenting Advisory board at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital. She has served on the boards of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, Guilford Art Center and Tommy Fund for Childhood Cancer. Annie is past president of the Yale-New Haven Hospital Auxiliary, as well as past co-chair of the Toy Closets Program and a former member of Yale-New Haven Hospital board of trustees. She has also volunteered with the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp Discovery School and the United Way of Greater New Haven Community Impact Cabinet.

David is President of Elm Advisors, LLC. Prior to establishing Elm Advisors, he served as the Associate Vice President and Director of University Properties at Yale University. He was the cofounder and President of the Facilities Resource Management Co. He currently serves as President of the Committee of Trustees, Hopkins School, Trustee and member of the Executive Committee, Long Wharf Theatre, and as a member of the Board of Directors Elm Shakespeare Co, Festival of Arts and Ideas, and New Haven Road Race.

Barbara is president and CEO of H. Pearce Real Estate Company. Before joining the family business, Barbara was an associate in the New York law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Barbara is a graduate of Harvard College, Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and the Harvard Law School. She has served on many for-profit and not-for-profit boards in Connecticut and has served as chair of many including: the Hospital of St. Raphael, Long Wharf Theatre, the Regional Leadership Council, the Connecticut Business and Industry Association, and The United Way of Greater New Haven. She is the immediate past chair of The Foundation's Board.

James E. Perillo

James is presently a mathematics and computer science teacher at Guilford high school. His previous teaching experiences include teaching math, coaching varsity basketball and serving as a guidance counselor at West Haven High School. Between his teaching careers, he served as Executive Director of the New Haven Coliseum for sixteen years. He has served on the Board of Directors of The New Haven Coliseum Authority, The New Haven Board of Alderman, the Albie Booth Boys and Girls Club and the New Haven Democratic Town Committee.

David is the managing partner of Brenner, Saltzman & Wallman LLP in New Haven, where he leads the firm’s commercial litigation department. He is a former president of the New Haven County Bar Association, the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven and Congregation Mishkan Israel. He is a member of the Anti-Defamation League’s National Commission and its National Executive Committee. David has served for over ten years as chairman of Hamden’s Farmington Canal Commission, which is involved in building a linear park along an abandoned railroad line.

Rolan has an extensive seventeen-year background in affordable housing and economic and community development, representing clients including the City of Bridgeport, the State of Connecticut and not-for profit entitities. She is Senior Partner in the firm of Berchem, Moses & Devlin, P.C., concentrating in the areas of municipal law, real estate, affordable housing and economic and community development, and is chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority. Prior to joining her current firm in 2004, she was a principal in the firm of Updike, Kelly & Spellacy, P.C.. She also has served as the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Community Health Center Capital Corporation and the Assistant Vice President in the Community Development Lending Group at American Security Bank, both located in Washington, D.C. Rolan presently advises the Housing Authority of the City of Bridgeport and the Housing Authority of the City of New Haven and has been both as visiting lecturer in law and a tutor at the Yale Law School Clinic on Housing and Community Development. Rolan is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Bar Association Forum on Affordable Housing, the Connecticut Bar Association, the New Haven County Bar Association, and the National Bar Association. She is the past President of the Boards of First City Fund Corporation and Greater New Haven NAACP. In 1999, Rolan was named the Minority Business Person of the Year by Business New Haven, a regional business trade publication, and was also named one of Twenty Noteworthy Women by the New Haven Business Times. She is a life member of the NAACP and received a Juris Doctorate from the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, DC, and a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College.
