The Community Fund for Women & Girls was created in 1995 by a woman to provide ongoing support for services important to women and girls in the Greater New Haven and Lower Naugatuck Valley area. The Fund’s purpose has inspired more than 600 women to participate as donors and volunteers.

Area women work together to mobilize community strengths and partner with local organizations to make changes that improve the lives of women and girls.
The Fund holds an annual meeting each Spring and  fund-raisers throughout the year.

Over the past 10 years, the Fund has distributed grants to 56 organizations and programs including ones that provide employment training, prevent teen pregnancy, help women and girls facing domestic violence and homelessness, build positive youth development, and teach women the skills necessary for success in the political arena.
