New Fund Helps Children with Heart Conditions
Rebekah Horn was left with an indescribable sadness when her brother Joshua died on Christmas Eve two years ago. Though Joshua had a known heart condition since childhood, the 31 year-old was in good physical condition when he unexpectedly passed away of a heart arrhythmia.
To honor Joshua’s life, Rebekah has created My Brother’s Heart, the Joshua French Memorial Fund at The Community Foundation. Distributions from the fund will be made to help pediatric cardiology patients and their families. An inaugural fundraiser is scheduled for 7:30 pm on Friday, July 16th at Woodwinds of Branford. Tickets are $75; the event includes a buffet dinner, open bar, music by Double J. Sound, a silent auction and raffle hosted by Jim Masters.
To purchase tickets, please call 203-410-7159 or e-mail mybrothersheart@gmail.com, or contact Sharon Cappetta, Senior Philanthropic Officer at The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven at 203-777-7071 or scappetta@cfgnh.org.
