The Community Fund for Women & Girls' Grant Application Information

The Fund was established in 1995 by an anonymous donor and gifts from the community to provide social and economic advancement for women and girls through strategic philanthropy, grants, advocacy and collaboration.

Consideration is given to grant proposals that:

1. Create and support opportunities for the economic, educational, physical, emotional, social, artistic, and personal growth of women and girls.
2. Meet special needs of women and girls and the diverse populations of women in our region.
3. Encourage the advancement and full participation of women and girls in the community and in philanthropy.
4. Advance the status of women and girls in the core areas of economic security, health, violence, education and political participation.

The deadline to submit an application for the 2012 grants cycle is January 13, 2012 by 5 PM.  Decisions will be announced in May 2012.

There are two types of grants available from the Fund. Each type has a separate online application form. The types are listed below.

Program Grants

The maximum grant amount awarded through this process is $5,000.

The deadline to apply for a grant through this process in 2012 has passed.

Strategic Investment Grant

This grant is valued at $10,000 and intended to significantly address the Fund's mission and core areas listed above through positive systemic change. This category is highly competitive, with only one award made annually.  An eligible program for the Strategic Investment Grant exhibits potential for expansion, replication or continuation, and creates a ripple effect in the community and the lives of women and girls.  In order to gain a true sense of a program and an organization’s capacity to carry it out, the Fund’s grants committee will arrange site visits to organizations whose applications for the Strategic Investment Grant make it through the first round of reviews.

If your organization is a previous recipient of a Community Fund for Women & Girls grant, please make sure that an interim or final report has been submitted.  Your application will not be considered unless you are compliant with this requirement.  There is an opportunity on the last page of the online application to submit your interim or final report as an attachment.  Click on the hyperlink above to download the form.

Organizations that are awarded a grant from the Fund in 2012 and have an organizational budget of $600,000 or more will be required to complete or update their giveGreater.org profile by 5:00 pm on Friday, January 11, 2013 (www.givegreater.org).
