Some of the pleasure of establishing a fund at The Foundation comes from deciding what your fund will be for and what you’ll name it. Take a moment to consider the causes that matter most to you. Education? The environment? Animal welfare? Preservation? The Arts? A permanently endowed fund ensures that your original gift to support these causes will grow year after year. That means that more charitable dollars can be distributed to what’s important to you, every year and forever.
Become a member of a select group by creating a bequest in your will to benefit your favorite charity or cause. You’ll be among donors like Caroline Silverthau who established a fund in 1942 by bequest to provide for essential material needs of the poor. Or George Mixter who established a fund in 1977 to benefit patients suffering from incurable disease.
Not sure where you want to give? Ask us for recommendations. We are intimately familiar with the non-profits working in and around New Haven. Why? Because they apply to us for grants. We know who gets great results, who has good management, who has exciting plans.
