An online knowledge and giving resource
that contains comprehensive information about the important work nonprofits do in the Greater New Haven community.
 

 

 

A local interactive web-based service that tracks community conditions and issues such as: early childhood, economic health, education, health, safety, and housing.  


Established in 1956 and today supported by close to 550 foundations, the Foundation Center is a national nonprofit service organization recognized as the nation’s leading authority on organized philanthropy, connecting nonprofits and the grantmakers supporting them to tools they can use and information they can trust.

 GrantSpace provides free access to the most comprehensive set of information and resources available to anyone seeking grants on behalf of nonprofit organizations. Resources featured on Grantspace.org are organized under the 13 most common subject areas of funding research — including health, education, and the arts — so visitors can easily access the most relevant content. Visitors are also offered the option of approaching the content by focusing on a particular skill they want to hone, including proposal writing, corporate fundraising, and collaboration. Video and audio recordings of onsite Foundation Center presentations, along with links to the most relevant FAQs in the extensive Knowledge Base, accompany each topic. The "Ask Us" link on each page connects visitors to expert assistance from Foundation Center staff via live chat or e-mail. GrantSpace also provides a comprehensive calendar listing of all upcoming Foundation Center training opportunities in classrooms around the country and online.

We wanted to let you know about www.MetroTrends.org, the Urban Institute’s new report card on how metropolitan America is faring. The site provides up-to-date indicators of social and economic conditions and trends in metro areas nationwide, along with thoughtful commentary on what they mean for workers, families, businesses, and neighborhoods. The goal of MetroTrends is to fuel evidence-based debate about the nationwide impacts of recession and recovery, critical differences among metropolitan regions, and persistent or emerging disparities among population groups.

 A source for news and information about policies and decisions impacting the State of Connecticut. Keeps a comprehensive guide to state elected officials and an evolving library of source documents from a variety of state agencies and outside organizations. Facilitates debate and discussion on key issues affecting the State.   
Foundation reports and other publications: these reports and publications serve as references to nonprofits about issues impacting the communities they serve as well as the broader community.
