The following event is sponsored by The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. For more information, please contact the sponsored organization directly.
7th Annual Philanthropy Conference
Created and organized by student leaders from the Yale School of Management, the conference provides a unique management perspective on the challenges facing leaders in the social sector. The conference attracts philanthropists, nonprofit professionals, academics, and students to engage in a conversation about trends and issues shaping the social sector today. Highlights of the conference include an interactive lab on social impact metrics, a roundtable discussion with individual philanthropists, and break-out sessions featuring experts drawn from across the social sector.
Now in its seventh year, the 2012 conference - Beyond Best Practices: Financing and Implementing Social Change – will offer participants tangible methods for, and strategic insights on, measuring and achieving impact as funders or investors seeking social change. The conference will explore topics such as:
- How funders and nonprofits develop successful partnerships across sectors
- How social impact organizations best innovate to capitalize on new technologies and ways of doing business
- How individual philanthropists are shaping and redefining their giving strategy
- How funders and nonprofits can use innovation processes to further their strategic impact
The conference will feature two keynote speakers, four topical panels and a lunchtime discussion with major philanthropists. New in 2012, the conference will also include a social impact laboratory led by innovation management consultants in which conference attendees will draw on their expertise to guide local nonprofits in the creation of social impact metrics.
