Bishop Brooks is the pastor of Beulah Heights First Pentacostal Church. He is the Diocesan of the Connecticut District Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, with churches in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Springfield, MA. He is President/CEO of Beulahland Development Corporation, founded to revitalize distressed communities in New Haven via affordable housing, economic development and job opportunities. He is also the Director of the International Christian Education Association of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World Inc. He serves on Yale-New Haven Hospital’s Trustee Board and Medical Committee; the City of New Haven’s Board of Police Commissioners, as well as its Police & Fire Pension Board; and the Budget & Finance and Operations & Procedures Committees for the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World Inc. He also is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and the International Association of Christian Clinical Counselors. Within his church organization, he sits on the Board of Bishops, the Board of Directors of the Connecticut District Council and Aenon Bible College.

David is the managing partner of Brenner, Saltzman Wallman LLP in New Haven, where he leads the firm’s commercial litigation department. He is an active member of the Federal Bar Council, a member of the Anti- Defamation League’s National Executive Committee and Chairman of the Town of Hamden’s Farmington Canal Commission. He is past President of the New Haven County Bar Association, the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven and Congregation Mishkan Israel.

Jamie is the President and CEO of the Valley Community Foundation. Prior to accepting this position, he had been a practicing attorney and partner in the law firm of Cohen & Thomas for 37 years and served twice as the City of Derby’s Corporation Counsel. Jamie has been a Director, member and officer of many civic organizations, including the Derby Public Library, the New Haven Symphony and the New Haven Charter Revision Commission, among others, and has been honored by several,including the Martin Luther King Brotherhood Committee, Housatonic Council of Boy Scouts and the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, from whom he received the 2006 Gold Seal Award.

Annie currently holds the position of Volunteer Coordinator at the Volunteer Services department in Yale-New Haven Hospital and is a member emeritus of the Board of the Friends of Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital. Prior to her current position as Volunteer Coordinator, Annie was the Director of Friends of Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital after being a Board member for a decade. She was a member of University of Hartford’s Mortensen Library Board of Visitors and a member of the Parenting Advisory Board at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital. She has served on the Boards of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, Guilford Art Center and Tommy Fund for Childhood Cancer. Annie is past President of the Yale-New Haven Hospital Auxiliary, as well as past Co-chair of the Toy Closets Program and a former member of Yale-New Haven Hospital's Board of Trustees. She has also volunteered with the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp Discovery School and the United Way of Greater New Haven's Community Impact Cabinet.

Howard K. Hill is the founder of Howard K. Hill Funeral Services in New Haven, CT. He received his Mortuary Science degree from the American Academy McAllister Institute of New York in 1991. He is a Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer in the states of New York and Connecticut and is a Certified Pre-Arrangement Counselor. He uses his expertise to educate his community on the importance of pre-planning for funerals, which may include life insurance, Title 19 spend down procedures and estate planning. Howard has served the Greater New Haven and Hartford Counties for over a decade. He is a member of the Archer Memorial AME Zion Church in Windsor, CT. He is a current member of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NFDA); National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association (NFD&MA); Connecticut Funeral Directors Association (CFDA); National Association of Realtors (NAR); the Greater New Haven Chamber Commerce; the Greater New Haven Business & Professional Association; the NAACP; and the Oriental Lodge No. 6, F&AM, PH. He also serves as a Board member for the Hannah Gray Home. In addition, Mr. Hill is involved with a number of professions including: pre-paid legal services, real estate services, catering services and on-line travel services. He also serves as a liaison to small businesses and encourages networking.

David is President of Elm Advisors LLC. Prior to establishing Elm Advisors, he served as the Associate Vice President and Director of University Properties at Yale University. He was the Co-founder and President of the Facilities Resource Management Co. He currently serves as President of the Committee of Trustees, Hopkins School, as well as trustee and member of the Executive Committee for Long Wharf Theatre. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Elm Shakespeare Co., Festival of Arts and Ideas and New Haven Road Race.

James is presently a mathematics and computer science teacher at Guilford High School. His previous teaching experiences include math, coaching varsity basketball and serving as a guidance counselor at West Haven High School. Between his teaching careers, he served as Executive Director of the New Haven Coliseum for sixteen years. He has served on the Board of Directors of The New Haven Coliseum Authority, the New Haven Board of Aldermen, the Albie Booth Boys and Girls Club and the New Haven Democratic Town Committee.

Shelly joined The United Illuminating Company in June, 2001 as Director of Economic and Community Development with responsibility for UI’s economic development, community affairs, employee volunteer, foundation and corporate contribution programs. Shelly is a past member of the AT&T National Accounts organization, former SNET loaned executive to the Department of Economic and Community and past Director of Community Affairs for SNET. Shelly serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Greater New Haven, and the CT Economic Resource Center. She is Board Chair of the Connecticut Main Street Center. She is also on the Regional Growth Partnership’s Strategic Planning Committee and the Advisory Committee to the Connecticut Regional Institute for the 21st Century.

Alan is a managing partner of Ryan & Tyma LLP in Shelton with over thirty years of experience in real estate, litigation and estate planning. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Valley Community Foundation and serves as liaison to the Valley Advisory Committee. He is immediate past president of Oak Lane Country Club and current member of its Board of Governors. He is the Chairman of Emergency Medical Services Board in the Town of Woodbridge. Previous board membership includes: Griffin Health Services (Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer), State of Connecticut Employment and Training Commission (Vice Chairman), Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce (Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer), Valley Regional Water Authority (Vice Chairman), Workplace Inc. (Chairman, Vice Chairman) and the Birmingham Group. Alan is also the former president of the Naugatuck Valley Bar Association and former corporation counsel for the cities of Shelton and Derby.

Rolan has an extensive eighteen year background in affordable housing and economic and community development, representing clients including the Housing Authority of the City of New Haven, the Housing Authority of the City of Bridgeport, the City of Bridgeport, and for profit and nonprofit entities. She is Senior Partner in the firm of Berchem, Moses & Devlin PC, concentrating in the areas of municipal law, real estate, affordable housing and economic and community development. She is Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority. Prior to joining her current firm in 2004, she was a principal in the firm of Updike, Kelly & Spellacy PC. She also has served as the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Community Health Center Capital Corporation and the Assistant Vice President in the Community Development Lending Group at American Security Bank, both located in Washington, DC. Rolan presently advises the Housing Authority of the City of Bridgeport and the Housing Authority of the City of New Haven and has been both a visiting lecturer in law and a tutor at the Yale Law School Clinic on Housing and Community Development. Rolan is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Bar Association Forum on Affordable Housing, the Connecticut Bar Association, the New Haven County Bar Association and the National Bar Association. She is the past President of the Boards of First City Fund Corporation and Greater New Haven NAACP. In 1999, Rolan was named the Minority Business Person of the Year by Business New Haven, a regional business trade publication, and was also named one of Twenty Noteworthy Women by the New Haven Business Times. She is a life member of the NAACP and received a Juris Doctorate from the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, DC and a Bachelor’s Degree from Dartmouth College.

Charles H. Long has been Deputy Provost of the University since 1987, serving under 7 provosts and 4 presidents. He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Rutgers University, and he earned a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of California at Berkeley, where he was a Woodrow Wilson Fellow. He came to Yale in 1966, and after a number of years on the faculty of the English Department, moved to the Yale College Dean's Office where he eventually became Dean of Academic Affairs. He later was appointed to the Provost's Office, where he has been since 1983, becoming Deputy Provost of the University in 1987. During his years in the Provost's Office, Deputy Provost Long's responsibilities have included many academic departments and nearly all of professional schools. His current responsibilities include oversight of the Social Science departments of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the professional schools of Divinity, Law, and Management, and the Institute of Sacred Music. His portfolio also includes a number of key academic support centers including the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies, the Institution for Social and Policy Studies, the World Fellow's Program, and the Center for the Study of Globalization. As Deputy Provost of the University he is the coordinator and in many cases author of the University's core academic policies.
