Rolan has an extensive eighteen year background in affordable housing and economic and community development, representing clients including the Housing Authority of the City of New Haven, the Housing Authority of the City of Bridgeport, the City of Bridgeport, and for profit and nonprofit entities. She is Senior Partner in the firm of Berchem, Moses & Devlin PC, concentrating in the areas of municipal law, real estate, affordable housing and economic and community development. She is Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority. Prior to joining her current firm in 2004, she was a principal in the firm of Updike, Kelly & Spellacy PC. She also has served as the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Community Health Center Capital Corporation and the Assistant Vice President in the Community Development Lending Group at American Security Bank, both located in Washington, DC. Rolan presently advises the Housing Authority of the City of Bridgeport and the Housing Authority of the City of New Haven and has been both a visiting lecturer in law and a tutor at the Yale Law School Clinic on Housing and Community Development. Rolan is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Bar Association Forum on Affordable Housing, the Connecticut Bar Association, the New Haven County Bar Association and the National Bar Association. She is the past President of the Boards of First City Fund Corporation and Greater New Haven NAACP. In 1999, Rolan was named the Minority Business Person of the Year by Business New Haven, a regional business trade publication, and was also named one of Twenty Noteworthy Women by the New Haven Business Times. She is a life member of the NAACP and received a Juris Doctorate from the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, DC and a Bachelor’s Degree from Dartmouth College.

David is President of Elm Advisors LLC. Prior to establishing Elm Advisors, he served as the Associate Vice President and Director of University Properties at Yale University. He was the Co-founder and President of the Facilities Resource Management Co. He currently serves as President of the Committee of Trustees, Hopkins School, as well as trustee and member of the Executive Committee for Long Wharf Theatre. He is a member of the Board of Directors for both the Elm Shakespeare Co. and Project Access.

Jamie is the President and CEO of the Valley Community Foundation. Prior to accepting this position, he had been a practicing attorney and partner in the law firm of Cohen & Thomas for 37 years and served twice as the City of Derby’s Corporation Counsel. Jamie has been a Director, member and officer of many civic organizations, including the Derby Public Library, the New Haven Symphony and the New Haven Charter Revision Commission, among others, and has been honored by several,including the Martin Luther King Brotherhood Committee, Housatonic Council of Boy Scouts and the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, from whom he received the 2006 Gold Seal Award.

Will is a Principal at Parrett, Porto, Parese & Colwell PC, He focuses primarily in the probate arena. After attending Hamden Public Schools, Will graduated from Deerfield Academy, Deerfield, Massachusetts and attended Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Colgate University, Hamilton, New York and with a Juris Doctorate from the New England School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts. Will is a member of the New Haven County and Connecticut Bar Associations (Estate & Probate Section, Executive Committee and Member of Elder Law Section). In addition, he is a member of the Connecticut Estate and Tax Planning Council. He is Secretary and a Member of the Board of Directors of the Lewis G. Schaeneman, Jr. Foundation, Inc. and President of the City Missionary Association of New Haven, Inc. Will is also a Member of the Board of Directors of Clifford Beers Clinic, Inc. Will is past President of the Quinnipiac Council, Boy Scouts of America and past member of the Board of Directors of Connecticut Yankee Council, Boy Scouts of America. He is the past Chairman of the Cheshire Planning and Zoning Commission, past member of the Cheshire Inland/Wetlands Commission, past Vice-President of the Cheshire Jaycee's and past Chairman of the Board of Trustees, First Congregational Church of Cheshire.

Annie currently holds the position of Volunteer Coordinator at the Volunteer Services department in Yale-New Haven Hospital and is a member emeritus of the Board of the Friends of Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital. Prior to her current position as Volunteer Coordinator, Annie was the Director of Friends of Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital after being a Board member for a decade. She was a member of University of Hartford’s Mortensen Library Board of Visitors and a member of the Parenting Advisory Board at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital. She has served on the Boards of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, Guilford Art Center and Tommy Fund for Childhood Cancer. Annie is past President of the Yale-New Haven Hospital Auxiliary, as well as past Co-chair of the Toy Closets Program and a former member of Yale-New Haven Hospital's Board of Trustees. She has also volunteered with the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp Discovery School and the United Way of Greater New Haven's Community Impact Cabinet. Annie and her husband Ben were honored by the United Way of Greater New Haven with the Alexis de Tocqueville Award in 2003.

Howard K. Hill is the founder of Howard K. Hill Funeral Services in New Haven, CT. He received his Mortuary Science degree from the American Academy McAllister Institute of New York in 1991. He is a Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer in the states of New York and Connecticut and is a Certified Pre-Arrangement Counselor. He uses his expertise to educate his community on the importance of pre-planning for funerals, which may include life insurance, Title 19 spend down procedures and estate planning. Howard has served the Greater New Haven and Hartford Counties for over a decade. Because his concern for the community is foremost, he has begun speaking to audiences about “The Urban Prosperity Fund”. As a result of playing an intricate part in the lives of people who come to him for direction, he is convinced that one of the best gifts he can offer is to provide a blueprint for change. While there are many movements occurring across the United States, The UPF is a very simple and obvious path to wholeness on many levels. His wish is that every person obtains an abundance of wealth in every aspect of his or her lives, i.e., spiritual, health, family, and financial well-being. Howard is married with three children who make great sacrifices to allow him to give himself to the community as a public servant. He is a member of the Archer Memorial AME Zion Church in Windsor, CT where his brother is Pastor. Howard is currently serving in the following capacities: Advisory Board Member of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NFDA), Executive officer of the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association (CFDA), Board member for the Hannah Gray Home, New Haven, CT, Board member for the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, CT, National Association of Realtors (NAR), the Greater New Haven Chamber Commerce, the Greater New Haven Business & Professional Association, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and the Oriental Lodge No. 6, F&AM, PH, Community Action Agency of New Haven, and the Urban Prosperity Fund.

Charles H. Long was Deputy Provost of the University from 1987 until 2010, serving under 7 provosts and 4 presidents. He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Rutgers University, and he earned a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of California at Berkeley, where he was a Woodrow Wilson Fellow. He came to Yale in 1966, and after a number of years on the faculty of the English Department, moved to the Yale College Dean's Office where he eventually became Dean of Academic Affairs. In 1983 he was appointed to the Provost's Office, where he remained until 2010, becoming Deputy Provost of the University in 1987. During his years in the Provost's Office, Deputy Provost Long's responsibilities included many academic departments, particularly in the humanities and social sciences, and nearly all of professional schools. His most recent responsibilities included oversight of the Social Science departments of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and of the professional schools of Law, and Management. His portfolio also included a number of key academic support centers including the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies, the Institution for Social and Policy Studies, the World Fellow's Program, and the Center for the Study of Globalization. As Deputy Provost of the University he was for many years the coordinator and in many cases author of the University's Faculty Handbook and other core institutional policies. Since his retirement in July of 2010, he has been serving in a part-time capacity on special projects for the University, including codifying the history and rationale of the institution’s academic policies.

Kica is Program Executive and Head of the U.S. Reconcilation & Human Rights Program at the Atlantic Philanthropies. She earned her BA from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, her MA from the New School and JD from Cornell Law School. Kica has extensive experience as an advocate, community organizer and lawyer. Prior to joining the Atlantic Philanthropies, she was Deputy Mayor in the City of New Haven. In this capacity, she oversaw all of the City's community programs and launched a number of programs and initiatives that included prisoner re-entry, youth and immigration integration. Kica was previously the Executive Director of JUNTA for Progressive Action, New Haven's oldest Latino community-based organization. She has extensive experience in the area of criminal justice and has worked as an assistant federal defender for death sentenced inmates and with the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and Amnesty International on death penalty and criminal justice issues.

James Perillo has recently retired as a mathematics and computer science teacher at Guilford High School. His previous teaching experiences include math, coaching varsity basketball and serving as a guidance counselor at West Haven High School. Between his teaching careers, he served as Executive Director of the New Haven Coliseum for sixteen years. He has served on the Board of Directors of The New Haven Coliseum Authority, the New Haven Board of Aldermen, the Albie Booth Boys and Girls Club and the New Haven Democratic Town Committee.

Mr. Ryan is President of the Shelton Economic Development Corporation and has served in that capacity since 1984. He also served as Executive Director of the Ansonia Redevelopment Agency from 1997 to 1984, managing the City of Ansonia Community Development, Downtown Revitalization, Neighborhood Development and Fair Housing programs. The Shelton Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) is a private not-for-profit local development corporation that provides economic and community development services to the City of Shelton specifically related to downtown revitalization, brownfields redevelopment, and infrastructure programs. Jimmy also manages local and regional economic development programs consistent with the SEDC mission.Mr. Ryan is a Past Chairman of the Valley Community Foundation and one of its Founding Directors. He has provided service to the Valley Community as Chairman of the Valley Advisory Committee of The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, for many years, and is a member of the Katharine Matthies Foundation’s Advisory Committee. He has previously served as a member and past Chairman of the Central Housing Committee of the State of Connecticut, member of the Connecticut Housing Authority, Past President of the Connecticut Community Development Association, former Director of the Valley United Way and former Trustee of Hewitt Hospital. Mr. Ryan has been recognized by the Valley Community for his public service by the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce as a Gold Seal Award recipient; he is also a recipient of the Good Scout Award from the Housatonic Council, Boy Scouts of America and Service to Youth Award from the Lower Naugatuck Valley Parent Child Resource Center. He is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University and lifelong resident of Ansonia.

Shelly joined The United Illuminating Company in June, 2001 as Director of Economic and Community Development with responsibility for UI’s economic development, community affairs, employee volunteer, foundation and corporate contribution programs. Shelly is a past member of the AT&T National Accounts organization, former SNET loaned executive to the Department of Economic and Community and past Director of Community Affairs for SNET. Shelly serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Greater New Haven, and the CT Economic Resource Center. She is Board Chair of the Connecticut Main Street Center. She is also on the Regional Growth Partnership’s Strategic Planning Committee and the Advisory Committee to the Connecticut Regional Institute for the 21st Century.
